Today we go into the mountains of west Virginia investigating the legend of the moth man. This story Originates back on the 15th of November 1966 to the 15th of December 1967 in the point pleasant, West Virginia area where multiple eyewitnesses claim they saw a large winged humanoid creature with deep glowing red eyes. Every description of this creature sounds about the same as a 7ft tall grey frame with some saying a wingspan of 12 to 13 ft, but others claim it to have had a 50ft wingspan Tho this legend may not be true could it be? But one thing they can all agree on is the red eyes saying it was like a red you've never seen before as if the red eyes of this creature were something sinister. Now there aren’t a lot of sightings of this mythical monster but some say they thought it was an airplane or a helicopter due to its enormous size. The moth man gets its name because it had moth-like wings, and its head wasn’t of a human but more inwards. Reports also say it flew faster than they ever saw.

Now we look into our first case where a trucker laid eyes on the legendary creature. This sighting takes place in Chicago, Illinois on the 26th of November 2019 at the O’Hare international airport. The trucker reported seeing something that had the shape of a human standing at 7 ft tall standing next to a fence during a smoke break at around 6:30 pm. The driver previously had reported his sighting to UFO Clearinghouse A site that covers these kinds of odd encounters. Based on the reporter that interviewed the driver. The trucker stated that this odd creature had a wingspan of 6 ft and quote” Looked like a demon or a goblin and was solid black”. The trucker mentioned that it might have had its back turned towards him due to it walking “with a gait like a bird”. The witness states that it was flapping its winds as it walked toward a large open field by the airport runways as it disappeared into the night. The trucker states that he felt as if he was witnessing the presence of a demon.

Now this story tells of the same 7 ft tall build but had claimed it to be a solid black with a 6ft wingspan while other reports that it's grey with a 50 ft wingspan so what do you think? Is this story true? If so, then why isn't the description not matching the original story?

Now we go back into the original story back in point pleasant, west Virginia in the 1960s where the first series of these strange sightings was about 85 miles in Clendenin, WV. Where five grave diggers heard a strange rustling in the trees that overlooked the graveyard. The five men claim that they saw a flying man above the trees. Afterwards more and more reports of this strange creature started showing up. Where two firemen that had described a large bird with glowing red eyes. Following that numerous reports claiming to have seen the same thing where the people of point pleasant saw a monster that was able to fly straight into the air “like a helicopter”. All the other reports stated seeing the bird man with these glowing hypnotic red eyes with wings of a bat.

Reporter Mary Hre at the time stated that she received over 500 phone calls not only of this creature, but also seeing strange lights in the night sky, electrical interference, mysterious humming sounds and UFO sightings. A year following the sightings a mass tragedy hit the town of point pleasant during the town's rush hour. The Silver Bridge collapsed killing 46 people then there were no more sightings after that in the town of point pleasant. The question this leaves me asking is does the moth man have something to do with UFO sightings that were reported or was it just timing? If so, how are these two things connected? Does he come from the place all these UFOs are being sent from?

Our next case dates back to november 15th 1966 where two couples on their way back to point pleasant. Reports state that they were driving past a TNT plant when they claimed to have seen a humanoid creature with the same glowing red eyes. One of the witnesses, Linda Scarberry claims to have seen a bird-like humanoid creature with a large wingspan with fiery red eyes. She states that the creature stood at 7 ft tall with its wings folded back. Linda recalled “you could see muscles in its leg”. The couples claim that as they drove down route 62 on the way back towards point pleasant following them then slowly disappeared into the fields. Later the two couples went to the mason county police department to report their terrifying encounter, Which then made its way into the local papers.

Whether these stories are true or not they are nothing but terrifying. Did the moth man have something to do with the Silver Bridge collapsing? Is it connected to The various UFO sightings? What does it want? Whatever the case is, No good has come from it.
